10pts!!! question about internet with a laptop?
I have a laptop that gets its internet from a wireless router. I want to disconnect the laptop from the internet temperarly so i can fix a virus on it and then connect it back to the internet when im done. how do i disconnect and connect it to the internet. thnx

On every laptop there is a small switch on the side that controls that, Blue is on, red if off, Just switch it to red, if there isnt a light, just switch it to off.

Start menu>>>control panel>>>network and internet>>>network and sharing center>>>and just click disconnect from all the networks listed

Go to Start -> run.. -> type "ipconfig /release"
Then to restore the internet connection type "ipconfig /renew"

more information is needed for this question to be answered... in particular, you need to specify whether it is windows, mac, linux, etc and what version of the OS it is.
