Is this the right Laptop for me?

I want a machine that can be able to SERIOUSLY multi-task.I want to be able to download/stream a movie, play good games(nothing too serious though),chat online with multiple people, download music and have multiple tabs open on the internet, all at the same time.I want it to be lightweight, powerful and have a dvd drive.I use a sprint broadband card, and sometimes use wi-fi and wi-lan.

So I am deciding to build my own Laptop on the HP site. It's a dv4t series.

These are the stats:

Operating system:

Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Processor:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)

Memory:

4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)

Hard drive:

500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection

Graphics card:

512MB NVIDIA GeForce G 105M

Display:

14.1" diagonal WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)

Primary optical drive:

LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support

Webcam:

Yes (idk what type)

Networking:

Wireless-G Card

Mobile Broadband:

HP Mobile Broadband (Choose either Verizon Wireless, AT&T, or Sprint, service activation required)

Primary battery:

12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

Modem Port:

Integrated 56K Modem

Productivity software:

Microsoft(R) Works 9.0

HP Care Pack Services:

1-year HP Care Pack Accidental Damage Protection Service

Weight:

5.08 lbs (I believe)

All for $1,265.96.

I also have an option to upgrade to a Lightscribe Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW Double Layer for $150,should I do it? Honestly,I am not sure what I am doing when I am making a PC.I just want to know if this will suit my needs and also,is it a good PC for the price? I specifically wanted the ram and memory to be high.I like it that way lol.Though I want to know if all this is good.Any advice is helpful.Thank you in advance,God bless! :)

Thank you,bye :)

Update:

I would like to say that I am not interested in a Mac because though I love their look and "guts" the problem is that the OS is inconvenient for the applications and things I MUST have.Meaning I can not download certain applications I need with their OS.

The specs on the computer are decent. However.

    1. I recommend choosing a quad core laptop. More expensive, but multi-task is better.

    2. No laptop you build, will be able to run all those things simultaneously without SERIOUS lag. Or MASSIVE heat problems, keep in mind a laptop shuts down if it gets too hot. And those heat pads? Useless, they only cool the plastic. The CPU and GPU change only about 1 degree.

    3. Stick to a few of those processes at a time. If your running a game, don't be running anything else. Thats a great way to screw up your computer.

    4. Loose the Blue-ray. They are obsolete on computers as first, you wont be able to tell the difference between DVD and Blue-Ray quality on a computer. Heck, there is barely a difference on an HDTV. And second, it will be a very long time before games will get released to it.

It would probably lag if you want to do all that at the same time .... because the Laptop will heat and when the cooler gets in the move it will work harder . That happens to me . Then if you want be able to do several things at the same time be sure to get more memory . If you want to play game , watch movie , chat , and download at the same time , i would get 6 gb DDR3 , for games i would get a 1gb video card because i don't think you will change it to soon and most of the newest games require a 512 card 1gb . You will need a bigger processor too . Maybe a 3 ghz .... dual core or quad core . Hope that i helped you... somehow .

The Blu-ray is a bit unnecessary. Watching HD on a laptop is like playing a game on integrated graphics. Yes, this sounds like a very good computer for multitasking. It should be able to run most games on medium settings. Core 2 Duo is quite a good processor, but you should consider a Quad if it's available and you feel like spending the extra money.

If you are spending that much, I suggest HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition series $999 instead. It has Intel Core i7 Quad core.

you could save $1,265.96 doll hairs by just hooking up a KeyBoard to a old TV and connect the cable to it
