Can I use a NIKON SB-400 Speedlight Flash on my Nikon D40X?

    Yes, on camera it'll work fine. If you want to use it off camera, you'll have to invest in a sync cable or optical or radio triggers because neither the SB400 nor the D40X can use the Nikon Advanced Wireless System.

    It should at least in manual mode.
