You're always close to the ocean, so you can hit the beach in summer, skii/snowboard in winter.

There's lots of outdoorsy things to do. It's not rainy and it doesn't get super hot here.

Places can be quite empty like the roads traveling between towns and what not, also cities arn't all that crowded. You won't see a homeless person either. Maybe 1-2 tops. I had never seen one, a visited america and i lost count of how many i've seen.

We don't have all that much american food and just have our own stuff mainly and australias food.. which isn't really as good compared.

You always feel safe living here, it;'s the peacefulest/safest country in the world.. and you don't have to worry about everyone having a gun and what not. If you want to stay safe and stay away from crime, you probably won't really experience it if you don't live in a area known for it.

The quality living here is more higher.. Auckland has the 4th wuality living in the world.. Wellington has the 12th.

NZ is more slower and quieter, we don't have big bustle and bustle cities at all.. just in general quite laidback.

    It's quite clean and green.

There's not much going on.. theres a few events and a few concerts that usually only happen in Auckland, it's just too small to have anything good going on.

Internet is quite pricey, i think celphone plans are aswell.

Just in general the government is better i'd say.

Friendly people.. though i found LA people to be friendly aswell anyways. But i guess we're quite friendly compared to other places in the US maybe.

Great scenery everywhere, even cities are quite nice looking. I have a decent veiw from my house here in Wellington.

It's annoying to be so isolated from everyone.. as it's annoying if you wanna travel anywhere as it costs a fortune. And sometimes we don't get the lastest technology at all.. that or it just takes ages to get here.

not really sure what else to say but..

http://www.emigratenz.org/migrantstories.html maybe you could have a read of that and it has some stories of people who migrated here and some of them are from USA so you can get better idea of how it is compared.

Even though i have never been to the US, i'm still going to assume life is pretty similar to yours. The people that live in the cities, live a city life just like you! A large majority live on lifestyle blocks which are small farm with a few animals and there is a large farming population. As for the Hangi, although it is a traditional Maori way to cook food, not many people practice it anymore. We had one once at school when i was about 7 but thats the only time i've seen one. If ever, people may have a Hangi once every few years, its mainly reserved for really special occasions. Things are also a lot more 'spread out' than in other countries, there is lots of room for everything down here. Hope that helped

On top of what has already been said i would suggest getting a house flat whatever in a major town or minor city and no offense to aucklanders but probably not in auckland but it is new Zealands biggest centre (1.3 million People) so that's gonna be a good place to get a job.

ALSO NEW ZEALANDS TINY POPULATION MEANS THERE LOTS OF SPACE AND VERY LITTLE CROWDING

I grew up in the US - have lived in Australia and currently in New Zealand. I can confirm that New Zealand is by far the most friendliest, safest and beautiful of all three - I'm not gonna leave!

New Zealand is beautiful, green, pastoral, great skiing, water sports and friendly people. The government is socialistic but then Obama is fast getting the US there.

Source(s): Been there a few times.

I already wished him a happy birthday, but oh well .. Happy birthday, Aries Astrum!! You are one of the sweetest people around. Without you the section would not be the same and we would all be missing out on an amazing person : ))

I was bored to tears with living in NZ ( born here ). The people are stingy. Consider themselves extra special with an attitude. they are definitely racist, which is very offensive to me...Yes, I am grateful to become an American Citizen, absolutely love it !!
