My husband has been deployed for three months and we are still not receiving separation pay. Is this common or should I talk with finance?

Unless you have a Specific POA finance does not have to release any information to you. Some commands will not have Family Separation paid until the paperwork has been filed which isn't always possible immediately depending on where they are and what they are doing. Commands may also not pay it until they are coming home as well, it can vary from command to command. FSA is not paid immediately they must be gone longer than 30 days to be eligible.

You can either fix the problem now or wait until he returns then go to finance and they will give you the back pay in a lump sum. If your not getting it, its because your husband never filed for it before leaving.

My husband deployed in February and it took numerous months until eventually now separation pay kicked in. once you're uncertain that it's going to take place, basically proceed to envision his LES. If there's a topic and it does not take place for despite reason, take a duplicate of his LES to the guy in can charge of his Rear-Detachment and clarify the area. That guy or woman would be waiting to direct you in the place to bypass to get the project fixed.

Ask his admin department about it. I work in Admin in the Navy... they have people there that can answer these questions if you have a power of attorney. If you have no power of attorney, the privacy act will prevent them from telling you. You'll have to get in touch with him directly. Three months is longer than FSA payments usually take.

Call or go to the finance office on base. They may require a POA, however, I have had to call twice about discrepancies in my husbands pay this deployment, and was given answers and had everything resolved both times.
Good luck!
