actually, today's vote is simply to decide whether or not the bill can now be brought up for debate, but your point is legitimate. Yes, in order to get miss senator mary to vote to allow debate, she has extorted (in a sense) all that money for louisiana. I find it rather deplorable, and were i to be a voter in louisiana, i'd not be voting for her reelection. No matter, ben nelson extracted a few concessions from reid, too, and the whole mess only reinforces the argument that american politics has become gridlocked, with selfishness the norm and thinking of what's best for the country as a whole is not conducive to getting reelected.

That amendment was put in to ensure the vote of that particular senator. But, this is not the final vote. Today's vote is just to get the bill to the Senate floor for debate. It's a long way from being finalized, and that amendment, and many more, may not be in the final bill that will go to the President for his signature.

If willing to openly admit to a $100 million bribe for votes, What is in there that they will not talk about?

I live in one of the states that was hit the hardest but since my Senators are both Republicans, and will vote against their atrocity, I'm betting we won't be seeing one red cent in bribe money.

It's a bribe. I do like how they cover it up by simply saying its to offset medicare costs in the state, among other nonsense.
