Mulan and the other disney princess?

Does this confuse anyone else

Mulan - she’s counted as an the “Asian” Disney princess, but she wasn’t a princess. She didn’t marry a prince, and her father wasn’t a king or anything like that.

I’m not saying that she shouldn’t be counted as a princess. She is, in fact, my favorite of all Disney female human characters.

To be fair, she isn’t a princess, so why is she counted as one.

Update:

I know at the end of the second one she got married, but he wasn't a prince, he was just a higher up in their army.

Update 2:

Pocahontas was a princess before John Smith. Well, I'm not sure if "princess" is the right word for her, or if that’s the word they used. But I believe in their world, she was considered a princess (The chiefs daughter)

Update 3:

Well, I believe at the end of the movie its assumed they got married. Doesn't say if they are or not, but the beast was a prince before he was turned.

Then answer this question. Why is Belle a princess since she is the girlfriend of an animal who is NOT a prince or a king?

NO ONE KNOWS DISNEY IS MESSED UP !

Well, by the reasoning that she wasn't born a princess, half of the famous princesses are not actually princesses. Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, and Tiana all married into their royalty, but seeing as Mulan never did, she technically would not be a princess. However, Disney seems to have made a few exceptions to that rule. Although I wouldn't technically consider Mulan a princess, Rapunzel is apparently a princess now, too, and she clearly isn't. According to the original stories, I think Rapunzel married a prince (I don't remember), but in Tangled, Flynn Rider is not by any means a prince. However, back on topic, Mulan actually turned down the option to be considered Royalty. At the end of the movie, the Emperor offers her to be his advisor, but she turns it down and asks to return to her family instead.

Not for nothing, but Pocahontas is also a Disney Princess. John Smith was nothing but a Captain and not a king or prince either. Good question. I will find this interesting!

XD this isn't really a question but u've got a good point, but in the end of the second movie that warrior guy married Mulan. So i think she is a princess now because he was a prince (i think).

Maybe after everything the emperor decided she'll be his successor. Or that on dude will be and she'll marry him making her like a princess
