  • I have a 10 gal tank?

A few months ago we had bought a set of hamsters, they bite and were mean, so we gave them away. But we still had a big 10 gal tank. So we picked up the stuff we needed to add fish to it. Well, our fish have passed away. We're not sure why, we did everything we were told to do. We have a feeling the heater got unplugged while we were camping for the weekend.

My question is, what can we have as another pet for my kids? We don't really want to do fish again. We were thinking about a turtle, but they need a bigger tank.

We don't mind buying little things for our new pet. At the moment we're thinking a gecko, but I've never had one as a pet.

Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

  • play dough in fish tank?

I just bought a big fish tank for my kids. no fishes yet, but soon. The woman at petco said I have to wait for the Ph levels and the fish need stuff to hide in and swim around and under. Well, I was thinking, could I get some clay, or play dough and give it to my kids and let them make something for the tank. would that hurt the fish? It seems like it would be cheaper and more fun for my kids if they could make something. I was reading somewhere that I could use little plastic toys but I want the kids to make something. Use it as a rainy day project.

If I cant use clay or play dough can anyone tell me what I can use so they can make stuff for it?

  • p90x Nutrition plan - how do I calculate it?

Hi, Im starting the p90x plan on Sunday and Im so confused about the nutritional plan. It says I need a protein bar, ((the site says Clif Builder's 20g Protein Bar can replace the one they want me to buy from them)) but, does that count as one my proteins I need ((Im a phase 3, I need 9 in a day)) And my recovery drink, how do I add that in there, I was told chocolate milk can be used as that.. Do I could that as one dairy too?

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/02/24/health/w... - chocolate milk as a recovery drink.

Any and all advice would be helpful. Thanks

  • Problems with my GED in minnesota?

Back in 2003 I took my GED testing, I had failed one, but then retook it, and I was told I passed and got a copy of my ged and everything. Did the whole walk thing and was really proud of myself.

Now, 7 years later, I needed a copy of that ((my first one is to far from me, in another state)) I started digging around and find out that the second test I took was the same as the first one so I never passed it.

My question is, how could they do that? Should I call a lawyer or something?

In the last 7 years I was never told that I never passed, and I wouldn't have ever found out if I didn't need this second copy.

  • How to get money back from a friend without being a jerk?

A few weeks ago, my husband and I got our tax return. Before anyone asked if they could borrow anything (mostly my husbands family) I said no, told everyone not to even ask, I had plan to remodel my house. And add another room on.

A day after I told some friends that, they called to borrow money, saying they would be getting 1550 back on their returns. And could totally pay me back, so I borrowed them 230 ( 50 here, 30 there, and 150 the last time, over one week)

That Friday came and went and they called and said they didn’t get it yet, something about it taking another week or so before their check would get there. So I bit my lip and went on. The 5th (2 weeks later) I asked again, they said they HAD gotten their taxes back on the date they first said they would, but only got 900 back, they bought a new computer and some new clothes for their daughter. Said they were going to have money on the 15th (didn’t say how, and both aren’t working, so I didn’t ask. The less I know, the better) I called today and asked about it, she said “Oh, we don’t have it, not sure when we will, I’ll call you whenever I get it)

I know 230 doesn’t sound like a lot, but we used every bit of our return for the remodel… expecting this money for my bills. I don’t want to be late, I hate being late on my bills, like everyone else. And I’m to the point were I just want to yell and scream at her, but I know this wont get my money back to me.

All together they owe my husband and I about 650 dollars. He lost his job early last year and we’ve been helping them with little bits here and there, mid summer I quit because they’re not looking for another job. I don’t need all 650 back, I only really need 200 right now for my bills.

My question is, how can I get my money without being rude and losing a friend

  • Question about X-Men Origins: Wolverine?

Well, I just watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine with my husband, a total comic book nerd and he didn't like the movie. For reasons he said "would take all night to tell you, and you wouldn't want to watch it again"

Anywho.. I've got a question about it, like... I know Wolverine's name is James Howlett and the reason he calls himself "Wolverine" but where does the name Logan come in? About 1/3 of the way into the movie (after leaving the "group" ) people start randomly calling him Logan? In the 6 years out of the film did he just one day say to himself "I don't like the name James, call me Logan" Is there a reason behind it?

  • what kind of comics to get an 8 year old.?

My 8 year is just now getting into comics. He loves to read and my husband got him some toys that had a comic book with it. I believe its x men, but I have no idea. Anyhow, I was wondering what is a good comic book set for him. My husband is saying the newer comic books are more for older teens/young 20’s and can be racy. I’m wanting to buy a set or two (if I can find one) on ebay, but I need something to look for. A jumping off point.

So, what comic books should I be looking for that would be okay for an 8 year old to read.

He loves any kind of super hero movie. But he seems to go for more Marvel then DC on the movies. But he loves batman. I’m looking for something not over the top violent but I know most comics are good guys vs. bad guys. Any and all ideas would be helpful. Thanks

  • washer/dryer for a large family?

Within the next my husband and I will be getting our taxes back, and I'm getting a new washer/dryer (mine was used and broken down when we got them) And I was wondering what a good brand/model would be good for a large family. We have 3 boys and 1 girl. Right now, I've got 3 that aren't in school, 2 of them under 20 months. I want these to last me a while. I can't go out and replace them every year or so (Like I have been with my used ones)

This is my first time buying a washer/dryer and I have no idea what to look for. I'm wanting to go as cheap as we can, but I'd rather get great quality then cheap (but cheap is good!)

Doesn't matter if its a front loader, or a top loader or whatever, just need to make sure its going to last a while and can handle 2 to 3 loads of clothes per day.

Any ideas on a brand/type I should be looking for?

    Links would be great!

  • Find baby pictures online?

I was on Y!A and I saw this questions "where can I find baby pictures of <name> at <location>"

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlHpY...

And I was wondering where can I find my sons, his first baby picture was lost because of a flood and I would like to get another copy, but I'd rather not state his name or birthday on Y!A (weirdos out there and what not) I've looked on the site on the other questions (answer number 4) and couldn't find my son. Maybe his hospital uses another company?

Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky. I've looked online, and can't seem to find the right place, maybe one of those nice ladies who answered this other woman's question will come across this as well.

  • Mulan and the other disney princess?

    Does this confuse anyone else

Mulan - she’s counted as an the “Asian” Disney princess, but she wasn’t a princess. She didn’t marry a prince, and her father wasn’t a king or anything like that.

I’m not saying that she shouldn’t be counted as a princess. She is, in fact, my favorite of all Disney female human characters.

To be fair, she isn’t a princess, so why is she counted as one.

  • What is cheating, where is that line?

I'm asking for a friend of mine, she asked me and I have no idea what to tell her.

Her question to me is " what is cheating, is flirting online cheating? What about, planning on cheating, is that cheating?" I really don't know, so I pose this question to ya'll

A little background, she thinks her husband is cheating on her with someone online. But wants to know if he's really cheating or just being a dick head. Personaly, I think the flirting isn't cheating, online or in real life.. Some people just flirt, but the planning on cheating, is just like cheating.

  • Why do I get weird looks when I'm out in town with my kids?

I’m just 24 years old, and when I go out into town with all my kids, I get weird looks.

I have an 8 year old son, a 5 year old daughter, a 18 month old son and a 5 month old son.

We don’t do anything weird, or anything like that. But when I’m walking around wal mart, buying dinner, or clothes shopping with all 4 kids with me, I get weird looks. Is it because my husband isn’t with me. We’re still married, and very much so in love, he just works evenings, so he’s not with us shopping.

At first it didn’t bother me, but after a while, its starting to. Am I’m just wondering why I’m getting those looks. Before going into town, I make sure my kids are clean, and dressed for whatever the weather is. And, I know most people say this, my kids are very well behaved in the store. If they were crying and screaming for a toy, or whatever, I’d understand getting weird looks. But most of the time, my oldest will push the cart for me, with the 17 month old in seat in the cart. The boys play with each other. I’ll have the baby on my chest, one of those baby holder thingys. And my daughter holding my hand, or walking near me, or holding on to the cart. I always make sure the kids are in front of me, so I can watch them.

    Any ideas?

  • How many calories should a 4 year old have in a day?

My daughter in a bit on the heavy side. Well, she's over the 95th line for her age. Her height is the same way. Her doctor isn't worried about her, but I am. I don't want her to lose the weight, I just don't want her to gain anymore. We've (the whole family) has started eating more healthy foods, and less junk foods.

For breakfast this morning, she (and myself and her 18 month old brother) had eggs with 2 pieces of toast. I gave her about the same as I gave myself. I was nice and comfy full, but she said she was still hungry. Almost begging me for the chips I had on my desk from the night before. I gave in, and gave her a hand full. About 10 minutes later, I find her in the kitchen eating cheese its out of the box under the table.

Now, its about lunch time, and she should have a full belly, but she's asking for a ham and cheese sandwich. My husband says shes going to shoot up any time now, but she's been eating like this for about 6 or 7 months now.

Like I said, I don't want her to lose the weight, just not gain any more.

  • Could I be pregnant......?

I was depo for a while, and I missed my last appointment. Didn’t bother me much. My husband and I just started to use condoms. Well.. I got my period, it lasted about a 4 to 5 days, then a week later, it was back. Both times it wasn’t as heavy as I remember ((I had been on depo for about a year before I missed)) One after noon, my husband and I got a few minutes of alone time and made love, we forgot about the condom… I was worried, and told him I was going to go and get the morning after pill. ((We have 4 already, and money is pretty tight)) My dad ended up getting sick, so the morning after pill was forgotten. Its been about a month since that happened. And I have yet to get my period, I’ve taken 2 home tests already. Both in the morning, like the box said to. And both were negative.

Should I go and get a blood test, or is my body just being funky because of the year of depo

  • Am I just weird for feeling this way?

I don't collect child support for my oldest child. I did at one point in time because my husband and I needed a little state help to get us into this aparment and out of his folks house.(the way the program worked was they would pay our down payment/first months rent and we would pay them back over 6 months) And the worker had told me that I needed to file for child support, I had to keep it for about a year, went to the court dates and everything like that, my ex made 3 payments. I hated getting them. To me it felt like the man I married couldn't support me and my child. After the year was over, I didn't apply for it again. And told my ex that I didn't want child suport from him, but I did expect him to help me with our son. Because my ex lives so far away and can't see Zeke every weekend, we agreed Brian (my ex) would come down to Kentucky and bring Zeke back to Minnesota for the summer. I wouldn't pay for it. It would all be on his dad. Well, my family lives up north as well, so in the summer time I would make my yearly trip to see my mom and old friends. I paid for all the gas and everything like that. This past summer was the first I didn't go, I had my youngest son to late into the summer time and by the time I would feel him ready to travel, I'd have a week up north. Didn't feel worth it.

So after school got out, I called Brian and told him to school was out and if he wanted Zeke to come and get him. He came got him and headed back. About a month later he emails me and asks me to help pay for gas for Zeke to get back home. If I don't pay the money, Brian wont have the money for gas to come down, meaning my son would be stuck up north. I sent the money and my son is back home now, thank god. Brian and his mother had done some school clothes shopping while he was up north. But later I found out the only reason they had done that, is because when they left they had forgotten his suit case and he didn't have any clothes but what he left in.

But I don't know what I should do. My mom says that I should collect child supprt and I should make Brian pay for alot more things in Zeke's life. But my husband can support us, my husband can take care of me and Zeke and our 3 other kids.

Should I collect child support. What would you do if you were in my shoes.

  • Will my little girl be a tomboy?

I'm wondering if my little girl will turn into a tom boy because she's got 2 younger brothers and 1 older brother. Right now, she likes her dolls and her dress up dresses, but shes just 4. We've been treating her like a girl, but she loves to play wrestle with daddy, just like the older boys do. The youngest is just a few months old so he can't. I'm a tom boy myself and don't see anything all that wrong with it, but her grandparents are worried about her.
