*(Power chewer owners only)*?

My pit bull loves toys, I think its adorable to buy him them. The only things he hasn't destroyed in minutes is his Lg EXTREME kong. I want to know what else is out there that is worth buying and that will last a couple months. Are Tuffy toys any good? Whatelse is there that is safe??

We have the same problem with our pit who is a strong chewer. Anything plush lasts about 3 seconds. We found Galileo bones are great...we get them at petco and they last months if you get the largest size. We like them better than the other hard bones. Petco also has a rope ball that is made to be torn apart and it flosses their teeth. this is another preferred toy of our pit!

My dog chewed holes in 2 different Tuffys in less than 5 minutes each. The Kong is the only toy that hasn't been destroyed, so I now give her freebie "toys" and just replace them as needed. Try a handful of kibble in a large plastic water/milk jug (no lid), or put some kibble or treats in a cardboard box, tape it shut, and let your dog have at it. A plastic water bottle or a tennis ball inside an old sock makes a good toy, too.

i have the same problem i have a newfoundland and boy oh boy do we go thru toys he now has about 8 different kongs, ball, bone, you name it he has it. he also has a huge booda rope that he loves. we tried other heavy duty toys but they didn't last more than a day or so, a big tire with a rope in it what a joke that one was he ate it !!! you just need to pick up a new kong ever couple of weeks and try stuffing it with peanut butter and his cookie treats

I've had the best of luck with Nylabones-the Galileo and the Souper Bones (wolf-size)...the cheaper ones are not durable enough. You can also check online for toys made for zoo animals...if a lion can't destroy it, your dog won't be able to, either. I've heard that the Orbee toys are very durable, too, but I haven't tried them.

They only thing I found that worked with my terrier is the kong toys. Anything else would be gone almost as soon as he got it.

The only things I can recommend:

    1. The largest Nylabones available.

    2. Another pit bull :)

hyper sticks, ( a toy from petco) an actual tire from a small riding lawn mower, ropes knotted tightly,( we use the truck to knot them, the rope between two hitches and pull) whole leg cow bones, (get them from the butcher, cost you about a dollar, absolutely hysterical watching them walk around with the bone from both sides of it mouth)
