This is not a stye, it is a chalazion.

Chalazia is treated the same way as styes, with warm compresses for 15 minutes 4-5 times a day. This usually helps it to open up and drain.

If it doesn't get better within a month, see an ophthalmologist.

My gram always used a hot tea bag, and held it over her eye 15 minutes or so several times a day. This draws out the infection. Your doc can prescribe an antibiotic ointment if it doesn't go away within a week, and if that doesn't clear it up then it will have to be lanced. HOWEVER, most clear up without incident. A stye is caused by clogged glands on your eyelids. You can prevent them by washing your eyelids with johnson's and johnson's no tears shampoo. Take a warm damp washcloth and gently rub the edge of your lid, at the base of your eyelashes. Btw Tricia, most stye's go away within 3 days, so your answer cracked me up!

EASY my mom is a nurse lol

take a wash cloth or a reg and make it damp with wate.

then put into a plate and microwave it for about 1 min

then let it cool for a min because it will be hot and once it is done cooling put the warm cloth over the stye and keep it there untill it gets cold.

just keep doing this and it will go away.

it may take a few days

this may sound ridiculous but it works.

get someone to say to you

'you've got a stye in your eye'

then you reply with 'thats a lie'

you do that three times and in three days the stye is gone. I just recently had a stye and that worked.

A hot tea bag on your eye helps it go away. Boil water pour over the tea bag and let it steep for a few minutes, pull it out and put in a teaspoon and wrap string around to squeeze out excess liquid. When it's cool enough close your eye and place teabag on it until it cools. Do this a few times and it will help clear up the sty.

I don't know if I should be saying this because you have to be really careful and it can be dangerous. Get good lighting and a mirror and use a clean/sterilised needle to pop it. But be really careful and make sure you are sitting down and your hand is steady and nothing can push you and cause you to damage your eye. Good luck.

Don't wear any make up. Dab the area with cotton wool soaked in hot water. Wait for it to clear up. Go to the chemist and get some ointment.

it is quite simply a boil at the base of a hair shaft near the follicle, of course, you should probably pluck the eye lash that is infected to allow drainage and healing. putting salt water (saline solution) on it will help a lot in helping the infection, a bag of ice will help with inflammation, and then taking ibuprofen, naproxen (aleve), acetaminophen (Tyenol).
