What camera should I buy!?

I'm interested in a really nice digital camera! I have 300 to spend

i wouldnt mind getting the chunkier nikons or opticas if thats the best kind.

but im looking for a great quality camera and i have no idea what to look for

something simple, but worth the money... brand names please:)

    Canon or Nikon - check the dealer for a good used one. Is it $300 for the camera body only - or include a lens? Lens vary in quality, and you'd need to buy a lens compatible with the body and based on the type of shooting you will be doing.
