What is a network's purpose?

networks are to promote interconnectivity among those in the network. It provides a platform for sharing of resources and skill sets allowing advance for the group or a specific cause as a whole.

Well... A network is mostly used for file sharing. Say your buddy down the hall in your office has a file you need to fill out that weekly earning statement. Instead of going all the way over there you can go into the network and get the file via your network. Their are several types of network connections. A LAN connection is a connection via wires. Your computer hooked up to another one. The Internet is a network. It connects millions of computers around the world. Another use for networks is a Wireless Network. In my house we have a cable router for our internet and a wireless router. We use that wireless router so that everyone in our house with laptops can access the internet. I wish i could explain more but im only 13.

For personal use, computer networking already done plently for you. For a company, it is one of the backbones for your companies success / downfall.

1) Why success??? It can help you and your officemates share your data/files/folders which can enhance your company's productivities. Imagine if there is no computer networking in a company that is quite large physically or maybe separated by geographical factors (different states / country)... how are you going to take / give that crucial/critical documents that u want / have??? Dont tell me you going to fly by plane or swim across the ocean are you???

2) Why downfall??? If a computer network is not securely setup.... your companies secrets can fall to wrong hands usually crackers or maybe viruses....
