Will right purity lead to the right power the GOP is hoping for?

Or will the idea of which lead to the rise of another furor in our political scene?

The battle among Republicans over what the party should stand for — and how much it should accommodate dissenting views on important issues — is probably going to move from the states to the Republican National Committee when it holds its winter meeting this January in Honolulu.

Republican leaders are circulating a resolution listing 10 positions Republican candidates should support to demonstrate that they “espouse conservative principles and public policies” that are in opposition to “Obama’s socialist agenda.” According to the resolution, any Republican candidate who broke with the party on three or more of these issues– in votes cast, public statements made or answering a questionnaire – would be penalized by being denied party funds or the party endorsement.

I think they need a really cool salute to go with their purity test.

Possibly something like rigidly outstretched arms while yelling a snappy catch phrase similar to "God is great".

Maybe those who don't take the test can wear some kind of colored arm band or badge.

When the Republicans started losing elections is when they went away from their core values as a party. They started acting more like democrats and ended up losing election. In our county, the people vote 88% republican. We have had several democrat ideology people get into office by putting an R by their name. The people here are not happy and can't wait until the new election in 2010 to get them out. We now have candidates for each position that if they put an R by their name, they really do stand for conservative values.

Do you mean "furor" or "Fuhrer?"

Cause it kind of sounded like the second.
