Court Judgment needs to be file with clerk of court?

I won a judgment for over $6,000. Letter from attorney says it needs to be filed with the clerk of courts. Can I do that myself or should I have attorney do it. I'm in the state of Ohio. Attorney even charged me for bring money to his office to pay his retainer fee. What the hell!!! Such a rip off the system is.

If you didn't know it needed to be filed at the clerk's office and don't know what form it should take or how much it should cost, you probably need the lawyer to do it.

Filing papers with the court clerk needs to be done properly and timely. Certain forms are needed and they need to be filled out correctly. If you do not trust your own knowledge and skills about this, you would be better off having your attorney fill out the papers that you can file at the clerks office or having a licenses paralegal fill them out for you. A paralegal may charge you less for his skills.

Call your Court Clerk and ask what needs to be done. Can't hurt to ask!
