For the PacMan believers, if Floyd wins will it be said that he beat a smaller man?
Putting aside the current Welterweights, if Floyd beats Pacman will he get any credit for his feat? Or will it be said he just beat a smaller man? What will you say?

I am not a "Pacman believer" but I can tell you what they will say (based on what they have said). Really they contradict themselves. They constantly say Pacquiao is evidence that weight doesn't matter, yet they feel all these catchweigth bouts where he dehydrate guys (like Oscar and Miguel Cotto) are fair. Yet, these same people label Floyd a "cheater" because he was over 2lbs against Juan Manuel Marquez and they insinuate that those 2 pounds were the reason Floyd beat Juan. If these people think that way, I have no doubt they will attribute Floyd's defeat of Manny Pacquiao as an example of Floyd running and being too big, therefore deserving no real credit for being a naturally smaller man.

IF Floyd beats Pacquiao, he really did beat a smaller man, and that's a fact. However, as a Pacman believer I wouldn't be making excuses because it's Pacman's choice to fight with a handicap. As long as both fighters AGREE on a certain set of conditions, and both fighters follow those conditions correctly, then the match is fair and full credit should be given to the victor.
The reason why Floyd Mayweather is rightfully a cheater because he AGREED on a catchweight with Marquez. Marquez had to gain 9 lbs while Floyd has to loose 3 lbs, that's part of the bargain including a money split in favor of Floyd. When Floyd came overweight by 2 lbs, then it is clear that Floyd is either outright cheating or he is discretely wanting an unfair advantage that he already had. With regards to DLH-Pacquiao, it was DLH who called Pacquiao out and they both AGREED on a welterweight limit. Again, it was Pacquiao's decision to fight with a handicap in terms of size and at the same time DLH had a handicap of loosing 7 lbs to meet the agreed weight. All these issues of dehydrating are already the responsibility of the fighter involved and not on his opponent. It is extremely unfair to say that Pacquiao dehydrated his opponents when in the first place it was DLH who called him out, and of course both AGREED on the conditions of their fight. The same principle applies to Cotto on their catchweight fight. I'm sure Sean G and the other Floyd nuthuggers know this fact, but they just refuse to acknowledge it.

I am a neutral here because I enjoy watching both of them equally but I think Floyd will win and I also think he will get no credit for exactly the reason you just said. If Manny wins they will say how he is like superman who has saved the world from Mayweather domination but if Floyd wins it will be said he picks the smaller opponents and that is why he won. I truly think most people would not be satisfied until he knocks out a Klitschko in round one.

pacman believers will of course never consider pacman losing to floyd.
but in all fairness to your question, i don't think it will be said by the media that floyd beat a smaller man. such excuses will come from the fans. the sports writers will not do this and give floyd full credit. especially now, pacquiao is already taken almost as a regular welterweight. it's not the same case as in the dela hoya fight anymore, when everyone thought pacquiao will just die against a bigger guy.
so, no worries. pacman retires in this fight-- i personally retire from boxing too. so, i am one of the people you won't hear from again after this fight regardless of who wins. well, if pacquiao wins, i stay a couple of days or so. but if floyd wins i am definitely gone. and there are no excuses. full credit to floyd if he wins.

Hey Hawaii, Manny has never lost convincingly? You are either in denial or you havent been watching boxing for very long. Manny has been knocked out several times and lost to Erik Morales as well as getting a draw and win against Juan Manuel Marquez in two fights he should have lost. So yeah, Manny has been beaten convincingly. Mayweather will never get the credit he deserves from haters but someday history will remember him kindly.

No we will never say that…
If Floyd wins he will get very less credit for the win bcoz with his style surely it would never be a convincing victory over pacman…

barrera couldnt beat pacman
morales lost the trilogy
marquez couldnt beat him
diaz looked like the challenger instead of champion
hatton should be his sparring partner
delahoy could even come close
even cotto said that manny is one of the greatest we have all time..
if floyd can beat pacquiao right now, he will get alot of credit from me. and i am a huge pacquaio fan.nobody has ever beaten pacquaio convincingly... if mayweather beats pacquiao either decision or ko i will respect his fighting style and i will never talk sh!t about him EVER again!
but everyone knows thats never gonna happen! LMAO!!! entertaining question tho! lol

floyd will only get credit if he knocks manny out. Manny is actually on the rise and has beat every fighter deemed "bigger" than him, so there will be no excuses for him. I think that if neither can score a ko, its gonna be a split decision and they will have to duke it out again.
i also dont understand why ppl think manny is just gonna knock floyd out. floyd is not gonna leave his defemses down like cotto and hatton and de la hoya foolishly did against him. he is a defense first guy and may use manny's over agressiveness against him. i dont see manny knocking him out i honestly think the desicion will be split

Of course he will get credit. I'll give him credit and i'm Pacquiao fan.
If Mayweather plays the Pacman game and runs out of coins, then it's GAME OVER.

I wouldn't say Floyd beat the smaller man. He beat the better man.
But that's IF he beats Pacquiao.
