Can I give my puppy Ofloxacin Ophthalmic Solution for her pinkeye/eye infection?
I just got my puppy today and it seems she has a little bit of pinkeye going on. She has a bit of excess gunk on her eye because of it. I had pinkeye recently and wanted to know if the stuff the doctor gave me, Ofloxacin Ophthalmic Solution, is safe to give to my pup, and how often.
Thanks!
Ok guys, I just picked up the puppy tonight. Like, a few hours ago. It was past 6pm at night and tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I haven't gone to a vet yet and really doubt one is open on Thanksgiving. I was simply asking a question, this is why I asked before I did something, sheesh. I dont know any vet to call at this time.

Sry but, do you seriously think people here have vet degrees?? CALL your VETerinarian!!!! Owning an animal requires the responsibility of going to the vet as needed, and not ignorantly giving medications, blindly. No one here can diagnose what is really is the medical problem w/ your dog and doing something like that can lead to extremem pain for your puppy. Pls be smarter for your poor pup's sake.

A great first step is to address your local politicians about he issue through letter or email. You could ask an animal shelter in the area how you could help. Volunteering at an animal shelter would probably help victims of puppy mills.

Never give your dog human medication unless specifically directed by the Veterinarian.
Take the puppy to the vet and have them classify what is wrong her and then prescribe the proper medication to you.

No you can't give your dog medication you would use without and ok by your vet. how would you even know how much to give him. how would you even know what is wrong with your pups eye without taking her to the vet and have him tell you what is wrong and what needs to be done. are you willing to risk your pups sight. take her to the vet and have him look at her.
