do you guys not eat tofurkey?
I have been reading the vegetarian vegan section, and whenever someones asks what we eat for thanksgiving, tofurkey is always given a thumbs down... what is the deal with that??
do you know something I don't? :S
no one likes vegans, and tofurkey sounds gay? lol. your a dumbass alex
hmm I guess I am not a good veggie... i do like my fake meats occasionally, if it's cruelty free i really don't see the problem.
see Jasin that makes no sense to me whatsoever... one is killing an animal, one has nothing to do with an animal? so confused as to how some think...

my guess is that veg*ns are tired of the stereotype that that's all we could possibly eat at thanksgiving. so many people ask us, assuming that turkey is the only possible menu item during the holidays... and then tofurkey is the one commonly-known substitute.
this is my 13th thanksgiving as a veg*n, and i've never once had tofurkey. i'd like to try it sometime, but i'm the only one who'd eat it, and i'd rather avoid the smirks that the others would give me.

My personal experience- the only reason why I'd put myself through eating a Tofurkey would be if I HAD to eat something resembling a turkey, to keep up with some sort of wacky tradition. My best guess to your question is that most of the thumbs-downers don't care for it much either, and are demonstrating their disgust though simulated hand gestures. It's a sad imitation food at best, and nasty grossness at its worst.

We're having a Celebration Roast instead just because we prefer the taste. A lot of veggies don't like "fake meat" because they think it's unhealthy or think it too closely resembles real meat. But on a holiday, why not have something tasty and attractive and festive? Enjoy your Tofurkey!

I've only been vegan for a few months, but I've heard mixed reviews about Tofurky. Some like it, and some hate it. What has gotten good reviews is the celebration field roast. That's what I had, and it's great. Haven't had Tofurky (except the deli slices which are good).

If I were to eat turkey, and I do not, I would eat the real thing.
