Leopord Gecko probleams. New to house and need help!!!!!1.?

So i bought a Gecko for my sons birthday almost a week ago. I got him from a couple who has raised him from birth and he is now about three years old. He has moved from a large aquarium to a smaller one since i have received him, although i took some of the objects that he was use to and put them inside of his new cage, and have added nothing new. His tail was very healthy when I got him, but unless we are holding him he is always under neath his rock and won't eat, the size in his tale has visibly gone down. I have also recently noticed that he has been turning red on his underneath. so i took the rock out and put a large piece of wood that still provides shade and a place to hide under. He has been eating since then, although i am nerves about him turning pink underneath, is something wrong with him? I also am wondering if i did the right thing by removing his rock, i mean i have him eating now, but will he be happy with out his solitude rock!?

He'll be fine without his rock, don't worry. He just needs a little time to settle in.

Pay close attention to the thermometer, and monitor humidity. Make sure temps stay comfy.

Go to the library and get a book about Leopard Geckos. There's a lot you need to know about the little guys.

How big is the tank now? Do you know what the temperatures are?

I would wait for a couple days (Monday) and see how he is doing. If he is still eating but he belly is still pink you should go to the vet. I think that he is probably just getting used to his new tank and family but it wouldn't hurt to go to a vet.

maybe it is still getting use to its new home. when i first got my gecko,it wouldn't eat for three days. after that,it started eating fine again. your gecko will do just fine without his rock just as long as he got a hiding spot.
