Are you surprised that Howard Dean agrees with Republicans that the health care bill is bad for this country?

He only agree because if the bill pass w/o a public option. That's not health reform. The insurance companies will have no competition and can raise the premium as high as they want. The party of "No" wants to water down the bill so much that it's not worth the paper it's written on. The insurance company just want profits and not about saving lives. Every American should have AFFORDABLE health care. I'm not saying free but affordable. If I lose my job, I can afford $1,200 a month for my family. The premium are too high for average American family especially when we are living in hard times. £

Obama is probably happy someone spoke up about how awful the bill is right now. It is nothing like what the people wanted. There is no public option, no early medicare eligibility, and to make it even worse we are mandated to buy into the mess. I think Obama wishes more dems would speak up about killing it and starting over. They need time out right now to regroup. I think they need to remove Lieberman, Nelson, Snow and Collins from the playing field as they are not cooperating and have created the bottle neck in the first place.

he doesn't agree with conservative at all. he is only opposed IF they don't push the public option. this monster bill actually covers less ppl than they are telling u. the taxes and penalties take effect immediately if passed but the 'benefits' don't start til 2014 AND that it is only funded for four years. there are so many reforms that could and should be made that will work without giving government control over our lives and our economy.

one must ask themselves, why, IF this bill is so 'wonderful', has congress have purposely excluded themselves from it to keep their own great plan now in effect. why don't they just offer us the same deal they are now getting. that would be much more honest and far less costly.

fact: the majority of citizens are against this bill and growing in numbers daily as more facts are revealed. Don B needs to check the polls, like most libs, he repeats lies rather than do research for himself. it won't make them true regardless of how many times they keep repeating them.

fact: the government has never been successful in administering any program. all are broke and we are borrowing to keep them running. the government doesn't create earnings they tax them.

    Not for the same reasons.

Howard Dean wants to implement a single payer insurance system.

Don B writes: "Howard Dean AND MOST AMERICANS and FOR -----PUBLIC OPTION"

No, most americans are against it. That is when they get an idea of what the public option is and does to them.

"AND THE REPUBLICANS ARE AGAINST IT and sticking with its mantra of NO on nearly everything that helps the common American"

No. We are saying "no" to something we believe will HURT the common American. Dems are always peddling their legislation as helping the common man, but then when it becomes signed into law, they find that it hurts them more than helps them.

What a dishonest representation of Howard Dean's position on health care reform. Dean believes that the health care bill is not strong enough and has been watered down.

He strongly supports a public option, which in no way resembles the Republican position.

As Dean points out, liberals are not happy with these watered-down versions of health care reform.

No, he is a Doctor & this is to benefit the majority of the people in this country who are not making money off of it. A Dr. makes money charging a fortune to people & cutting off diabetic legs rather than seeing them & making them well & preventing the amputation. Think about it.

He believes that the bill has been bastardized so much that it has no reform and no public option. That is a far cry from agreeing with Republicans who have never had a bill of their own in the entire history of this country, with the exception of a partial bill by Nixon that was shot down.
