What temperature do batteries last longest in?
When comparing different brands of batteries,is the battery that lasts the longest at a high temperature the same brand that lasts the longest at a cold temperature?

Heat is the enemy of any battery. The cooler you can run batteries, the better. I would not expect to see any major differences among the major brands of "flashlight" batteries.

Technology varies from company to company. Quality also varies.
Batteries last longest at as close to absolute zero as you care to store them at. that's minus 460° F
Of course, the will not work at much below 0° F...but you didn't ask if they'd be any good you asked for the temperatures where they'll last longest.
As temperature drops the voltage (and current) a battery produces drops. Eventually they won't power whatever you want them to power.
So you didn't ask a good question. A battery at minus 20°F may put out *some* power for a very long time but it might be useless. Obviously in the arctic and Antartica (and alaska and canada and maine and peru and...) they have tobe careful to use special batteries for low temperatures.
