Might make sense to show it to a dentist so that you can get the opinion of someone who can see the tooth and the cavity, but then again I expect you'll get a load of answers here from people who know everything about you and your tooth without knowing anything at all about you and your tooth.

A dentist would need to look at it to say yes. But it's possible that it can be saved with route canal treatment, route filling and a crown. I have a broken bottom right molar (which is killing me at the moment!)which is broken but my dentist said she can hopefully save it with that treatment. If not it can be removed and a bridge put in to save the tooth. But it will cost you! £600 to go private and £180 on the NHS.
Go to a dentist... If you don't have one ring NHS direct, they will help get you emergency treatment. The quicker you get it seen to the better. You don't want the nerves and root to start dying.

I would say yes. I have had huge fillings done. A good dentist will do anything to save a tooth these days. They don't like pulling them anymore. Go asap so no rot sets in, then it will be too late.

Go to a GOOD, HONEST dentist. Look around and get recommendations from others not just one or two. Compare dentists - If they have the latest technology and well equipped (no matter how small the practice is) then they are putting their money in the business to help patients.
I go to a small dental practice who are always updating their equipment and bringing in latest technology. My treatments go smoothly with no problems. He gives honest answers and chooses the least interference treatment for my teeth.
Good luck!

After the DD clears out the decay, probably won't be enough tooth left to save. Sorry. Know how you feel.

only a dentist will be able to tell u this for sure having inspected it, they are loathe to remove any teeth especially if u r quite young so they may try to do a root canal for u. my daughter had this done succesfully
