Can you watch blu ray without blu ray player?
I was wondering if i downloaded a blu ray movie if i could watch it in blu ray quality. I am assuming you need a blu ray player to play blu ray discs. But do you need a blu ray player to watch blu ray downloaded media?

You should just be able to play it as you would any other kind of video on your computer. Just open it up in some sort of media viewer (Windows Media Player, VLC, e.t.c.). This is assuming that it is a digital copy, and not on a disc.
The only difference between the DATA on Blu-Ray and normal DVD's is the fact that Blu-Ray holds more. The format of the video itself should still be the same.

Yes with blue ray movies you will definitely need a blue ray player but instead of downloading blue ray movies just download HD its the same quality and yet it takes less space.

i think magnavox or a brand like that sells blu-ray players for about $79 bucks. i'm guessing the prices will drop next year, just like dvd players did.
