I have a TV that is 20 yrs old. Can I hook up a Blu Ray player to it?
Will I need to have additional equipment to make them compatible? If so, what will I need? I plan on purchasing a new tv this spring.

The only way you could possibly hook a blu ray player to a 20 year old TV is via an RF modulator. It would be a total waste of time and money though for you to even try. Get the TV first, then the blu ray player.

Don't worry about what order to get things. You can use a Blu-Ray player fine.
If you have only RF in, you need an RF modulator.
