Does bleach whiten your teeth?

Hi. I've been using toilet bleach in order to whiten my teeth and I use it twice a day but haven't seen any results. Can anyone tell me why?

That is way too strong! Back in the olden days they used wood ash, which was high in lye content (thats one of the components of bleach) but over time it would erode the enamel horribly. Bleach is probably a lot stronger than that so you're just damaging the hell out of your teeth and you could have some serious gastric disturbance should you accidentally swallow any.

Just use a swig of watered down hydrogen peroxide for mouthwash, and a paste of baking soda/peroxide to brush your teeth. Keep it off the gums and always continue using a fluoride or enamel protection tooth paste when you do this. If you have a black light, you can hold it up to your teeth for a few minutes to speed up the process. No whitening products are good for the teeth but its certainly better than bleach!

DO NOT use toilet bleach to whiten your teeth. It can be toxic! Try going to your dentist and asking for teeth bleach or for a cheaper price, use Crest Whitening Strips.

Bleach actually can whiten your teeth with fresh stains.

However, this is not at all a very smart decision.

You can be poisoned. Try baking soda and peroxide.

Bleach is toxic. It can cause serious health problems. Do not use standard bleach to whiten your teeth.

No, but I suggest using hydrogen peroxide. Just use like you would a normal mouthwash. It's cheap and you can buy it at a rite aid or walgreens. I wouldn't use the toilet bleach.

    Oh boy!

That does not sound so good for your teeth and gums at all :/

Use crest white strips, I have them, they work very well! & the whiteness lasts for a very long time.
