Just to comment on the other answer that has appeared so far -
Manhattan, Brooklyn, and The Bronx are NOT suburbs of NYC - they are parts of NYC! So are Queens and Staten Island.
Long Island is NOT a part of NYC (at least, not what we usually mean when we say "Long Island".) The island called "Long Island" does contain Brooklyn and Queens which are a part of NYC. But the rest of Long Island is Nassau and Suffolk Counties, which are NOT part of NYC, and is what people usually mean by "Long Island." These counties, particularly Nassau County, are really suburbs of NYC (Suffolk County is a bit farther away, but could still be considered the NYC suburbs.)
In New Jersey, the following counties could be called suburbs of NYC:
Bergen County
Passaic County
Hudson County
Essex County
Union County
Morris County
Sussex County
Somerset County
Middlesex County
In NY State (other than Long Island) the following counties are considered suburbs of NYC:
Westchester County
Rockland County
Putnum County
I have no idea how long it takes to drive from Yorkshire, NY to NYC. Sorry about that one.

Technically, the closest area of NYC to the closest area of Connecticut is approximately thirty minutes from go out thirteen in long island on I95 to go out 2 in CT. btw, go out thirteen is a few a million/2 hour from midtown, greater with site visitors. From JFK airport to the closest element in Connecticut is approximately an hour and a a million/2, perhaps in basic terms truly much less.
