Best Digital Camera for Video Recording?

Hi!! :P

I bought a Kodak EasyShare M1093 Digital Camera, and I dropped it from 3 feet and it broke. The camera is really cheap, so I have to buy another one. My question is, can you please tell me a durable made digital camera that takes high quality video and pictures? My budget is no more than $300. I tried to search on google, but most cameras have bad reviews and its really frustrating. Thanks for answering ;)

I recommend going with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3. It has amazing photo quality and also some of these other features:

    -3" inch LCD

    -12x optical zoom

-HD movie capture (You should probably get at least an 8GB SD card for recording video)

It has received an excellent review from CNET, a gadget reviewing website. Here is the link to the review:

The price on Amazon is $280 and it is a very good deal. Here is the link:

If you have any other questions, email me and I'll try to get back to you. Hope this helps!

Most digital cameras record video. (In fact of all the cameras we carry in the store currently, they all record video.) However, not all cameras record video with sound. The quality of the video depends on the quality of the camera. For example, if you only have digital zoom, then you are going to get the same distortion you get on your photos when you use too much zoom. The cameras megapixels determing how clear the video is as well. I noticed one answered talked about the limitation of how long it records. In most cases, the amount of time a camera can record video is determined by the amount of memory you have in your camera or the size of the memory card you are using. For quick blurbs to put on a webpage, using a digital camera to record your blog won't cause too many problems. But if you ever come to a situation where you want to preserve a lot of memories or want a quality video, don't sent a digital camera to do a video cameras job.

Most, if not all digital point-and-shoot cameras that can record video do so at a very low resolution, like 640 x 480. That’s not too bad for web sharing. I’ve dropped two cameras and they were both a total loss. Unless you use a neck strap all the time, you have to be careful.

Try this site for reviews. They are not too confusing.

Kodaks are always nice, and never to expensive, Nikons are more expensive but have better quality.
