Anyone ever travel through Banbury and/or Leamington Spa by Train?

How easy are these stations to negotiate if you have a bulky and heavy hold-all with you?

Negotiation will require moving from a platform to a ticket booth/machine and back to the correct platform (platforms currently not known) with the heavy holdall.

Leamington Spa is easy to negotiate. There are only usually two platforms in use (one for trains to Banbury, the other for trains to Stratford and Birmingham). These are linked by a subway with full lift access. The ticket office has level access into the subway so you won't need to walk far.

Banbury is a bit more complicated: look at the screens to see which platform you need to use. Here, there's a lift from the ticket office onto the bridge and then further lifts from the bridge to the platforms.

Of course, at both stations, you'd be able to carry your holdall up and down flights of steps - but if it's heavy then I'd recommend the lift!

Chiltern Railways who serve these stations should be able to give you this information. Their phone number is 08456 005 165. www.chilternrailways.co.uk
