Can crocheting made with any type of yarn be blocked?

I just made a scarf from a yarn that is 85% acrylic and 15% polyamide. Can I successfully block it to make the edges a little more even?

Yes. Usually. And especially if the majority of the yarn is acrylic, it'll be fine. :)

Oh, yes, certainly, you can block anything. However, some yarns are going to be much more successful than others, and some won't do a thing.

It depends on what you want to achieve, and what method you are using. Since it is a plastic, you can't use any heat (steam), and water won't do much to it at all. I don't think you are going to be able to make your edges much more even by blocking, but you certainly can try. Do it on your swatch first, to see what effect it has. With synthetics, especially the plastics, I try very hard to make sure it is as even as possible, because I know from experience that blocking will have no effect at all. I really like wool, or other animal fibre, because so many uneven stitches come out perfectly even when washed. but synthetics are just a disappointment on so many levels. But do try it on your swatch. I hope it works for you.
