I think if I could be sure that it would end with the war, I would be for it. Americans are suffering from the war in ways they aren't aware of. This would be a simple way of illustrating it to them. But to pass the law without any sign from the government of our ever leaving the area would simply be adding a new permanent tax. On the other hand, if Congress were required to institute a tax every time we decided to invade somebody, the country would think long and hard about exactly what they were hoping to accomplish.
I want them all brought home and replaced with civilian companies who are actually going to improve the infrastructure of the countries instead of just making more enemies for us.

Is the war worth funding? Who really understands what this is all about? We need to find Bin-Laden and execute him.
I would support a war tax. If it was done like during WWII it would work fine. Tax the rich, because they have more to lose if the war should fail. It was nuts of the Bush administration to think that they could go to war and cut taxes on the wealthy at the same time. That little bit of information alone should let people know that he lived in fantasy world.
I am in favor of the war tax, but I still want the troops to come home.

First I'd like to see some proof or evidence that there is such a thing, which of course is never required to be Fox TV news.
Bush has been waging this war for 7 years, with NO FUNDING, and not even reporting it as part of the Federal Budget!
It's about time somebody was realistic an honest about what this thing is costing us.
Enough covert financing - which is all we got during Bush/Cheney.
Source(s): But our financing has reached critical levels - Obama needs to cancel Bush's suicidal tax cuts NOW!!! - delina_mLv 61 decade ago
1.- No
2.- yes (though more than half don't want to support said effort)
3.- bring the troops home.
3000 Americans were killed due to terrorism in the span between 2000 and 2009 and we decided this was unacceptable therefore launching a war that costs trillions.
However 45000 die every single year, used to be 18000 up until 2006 but there has been a new study since. This is many times over the people that died due to terrorism every single year. Yet we don't want to pay one trillion dollars to defend these American lives.
Are these lives somehow less valuable that the lives of those who died on 9/11?
Study links 45,000 U.S. deaths to lack of insurance

Gov has said and people agreed it's at war because the want to defend American lives and prevent more attacks thus more people dying from terrorism.
So while they will protect you from terrorism, a relatively minor cause of death when compared to dying of disease, they will not defend you from disease. I want to know why? What's the difference between dying from terrorism and dying from disease, either way people are dying. If we protect against disease we would actually be saving more lives.
Why do people agree gov must protect their lives against terrorism but it is forbidden for gov to protect our lives against disease

NO TAXES! Can we bring the troops home? I have no idea bc I am not one of the informed and have no clue why we are in war. I only know what they tell us, but is there any truth to that -- who knows?

War is hardly ever worth the cost.
I don't know the details of the proposed war tax, but it has been done before and worked okay.

I'm all for it.
The wealthy who have invested in military equipment companies, oil companies and Halliburton have cleaned up over the last 8 years. Make them pay some of that money back.

I will not pay a war tax, as I disagree with the wars. They can lock me up in jail if they want. not going to pay it.
if you can't pay for the wars, end them. it's as simple as that.
