What is your favorite wild bird and why?
I am very partial to the Mourning dove and the Lazuli Bunting and the Cardinal. The Mourning Dove for the soft sad cry, I want them and the wolf to call to me heaven. the Bunting for the colors letting me know that spring is at hand them and the yellow finch, the beautiful Cardinal all dressed in my favorite color Red, nothing more beautiful and then well the beautiful blue bird and blue jay and the Hawk and the Bald Eagle but they are birds of prey as are the wise old owl...

Crow. Very intelligent bird with top notch flying skills. I see them harassing eagles when eagles get too close to their territory, they fly circles around the eagle picking at his head to drive them away. Fearless birds and they stick together in a time of need :)

The Hornbills.
My local bird-park has many species of these birds enclosed within their nature environment,
and the viewing area is at the level of the treetop.
They inspired in me a sense of mystery and wonder when I first saw them 'popping out' of the thick canopy of the tropical trees --- their unique and colourful beaks and larger than expected size.
