I'll assume you mean this:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/animism
As far as I know, we believe that only humans have souls. That is b/c all other living things do not have the God given level of higher intelligence and free will that humans have. That gives us the choice to believe or disobey God and his message or take it as we want w/ whatever consequences come with each choice.
Everything else, however, obeys God's laws and acts according to it. If there's something seemingly disobeying the laws of God, homosexuality in nature for example, it isn't disobedient b/c it is not at the same evolutionary state of spirituality that humans are at and so that is actually natural though it may not be practiced widely. Incest is practiced widely in nature but again, it is natural for it.
All natural phenomena are also under the control of God. The method by which He controls everything is angels which are his powers. Living creatures as well are angels b/c as I said, they follow God.
Before, Islam, I don't know too much about what they believed about animism. They had 360 idols in and around the Kaaba, the main house of worship in Mecca, and I'm betting that a lot of them probably had to do w/ nature being alive or having life in it such that can be worshiped or what have you.
I hope that addresses your questions.

Bismillah.
There are no influence of animism in Islam. Islam is Anti-Animism.
Arab pre-Islamic believed in the existence of one Great Deity. They are PAGANS. They worship statues. The famous statues named al-Lat and al-Uzza, and Manah.
When Muhammad (PBUH) bring Islam to the world, all pagans activity were rejected.
==============
Surah 53:19-23
Have you then considered Al-Lât, and Al-'Uzza (two idols of the pagan Arabs)
And Manât (another idol of the pagan Arabs), the other third?
Is it for you the males and for Him the females?
That indeed is a division most unfair!
They are but names which you have named, you and your fathers, for which Allâh has sent down no authority. They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord!
===============
Muhammad (PBUH) called people to leave those idol worship activity and back to worship THE ONE AND ONLY GOD. Introduce them PURE MONOTHEISM religion called ISLAM the religion of the Prophets.
When Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) back to Mecca before his death, all the statues / idols surrounding Kabah were destroyed. No more paganism. No more idol worshiper.
ISLAM is Anti-pagan. ISLAM is anti-Animism.
Exactly, totally no relation to Animism.

Because of Abrahim .
Abrahim build the Kaaba (a place of worship ) there.people used to come there annually to perform their rituals there.
you can see the verses of Bible about Significance of Kaaba –
Psalms 84:4-7
84:5 Blessed [is] the man whose strength [is] in thee; in whose heart [are] the ways [of them].
84:6 [Who] passing through the valley of Baca (Makkah ) make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
84:7 They go from strength to strength, [every one of them] in Zion appeareth before God.
remember Muslims never worshiped Kaaba itself but they only worship there.
Beca is also mentioned in Quran as Makkah.
