modern film hero's journey?

am doing a project on the Hero's Journey in modern film. I need to pick a character in a movie and describe his journey. This includes the call to adventure, supernatural aid, trials, etc. However, I cannot decide which hero to pick. Examples like Nemo and Shrek have already been chosen. Oh and it defintely does not have to be an animated character. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

There's been a fair amount of work done on the "Hero's Journey", most famous of which is "The Hero With A Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell. It's been well documented that George Lucas referred to these sources for Star Wars, so Luke and Anakin Skywalker would be good possibilities with a fair amount of work that's already been done you could reference. Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader would be interesting as a tragic hero, as the entire Star Wars storyline has to do with his rise, fall, and redemption.

You could make a project about the heroes in the latest Star Trek film. Kirk or Spock, both go on a heroic journey that begins in infancy (within this particular film). One film has two options in it.

    Hope that helped.

Indiana Jones, in any of the movies, although especially Last Crusade
