I am doing an interview for a college writing class and I need to interview strangers so I turn to here for help. Please help me by taking this survey.
1.gender? (name optional)
2.age?
3. how often do you access the internet for personal use?
4.Do you think that the government(or any other organization) should censor the internet in any way?
5. If yes why? If no why?
6. What if someone wanted to publish a website about the grotesque imagery of deceased animals or people? Should this be allowed? Why or why not?
7. What if someone wanted to make a website that was used for terrorist organizations, like people would use it to plan or constuct attacks or the public? Should this be allowed? Why or why not?
That is it. PLEASE help me out by taking this quick survey i need like 5 people to do it. Thanks

No, the Internet shouldn't be censored; why should someone else be able to determine what I can or cannot read? As for terrorists - those bearded, deluded cretins are so warped and stupid that denying them the Internet won't make them see how vile and skewed they are, they're too gullible and easily-led to think for themselves.

The gov't has no right or reason to censor the internet. Individual companies can police their own forums and servers for things they are in disagreement with. Parents can keep their kids from visiting offensive material. Nothing more is necessary-at this point it all comes down to personal responsibility, we dont need the gov't taking that away in any more areas.

1) Male
2) 18
3) I use the internet every day whether its to watch youtube videos or to search news articles online for details the mainstream media decides to leave out.
4) No they shouldnt
5) The internet is the only area of life where no organization has involved itself in other then ridding it of illegal activity. If they came in with a black marker and started blocking out whatever thy thought was something I shouldnt see or know they would be blocking my right to gain knowledge and when you rid the world of knowledge then your just hurting everyone.
6) They do have websites like this, they are on websites like liveleak.com and sites like that, if they are showing something that has already happened then I dont see the harm and with websites like those they make sure whatever they get isnt an illegal activity otherwise they would report it to the police.
7) Websites like those are covered under "illegal activity" which I explained in question 5. If a website is formed that has the capacity to cause harm toward any individual it should be taken down. When I say this i dont mean emotional harm I mean deadly physical harm.

5 if the government is allowed to censor our internet, where will we get real news? surely not from TV news stations like FOX and CNN, who work with our government. TV is completely biased, but with the billions of sites out there, the internet is free.
6 this should be allowed. if some people have tastes we find grotesque, others find this enlightening. differences in opinion should not be allowed to limit freedoms.
7 this should be allowed. half of these terrorist organizations are false, and are made by the government to cover up mistakes.
i'm not some conspiracy crackpot. watch Zeitgeist and you'll realize what i'm talking about. http://zeitgeistmovie.com/

Female, 26, Daily 8-10hours, No, I think the individual person should be able to chose whether their internet browser should be censored. I have small children and censor the internet to specific site for them. I do feel that their should be a report program set-up for people to report terrorist sites, but the money and time spend to develop a program will not be worth it. There will still be wats to get around the censors.

NO WAY! people need to stop censoring everything. in my opinion censoring is idiotic. if people want to see something, they should just be able to see it. if they dont want to see it, they they shouldnt look. the people who believe in censoring are overbearing parents who want to protect their children from the real world. yet they dont realize that when you take something away, kids will just work harder to find it. its not even good for kids to have stuff censored. it just makes kids, when they get older feel uncomfortable because they have such a lack of knowledge. besides, there is nothing on the internet that is not something natural in the world. for example sex. it is something so natural and people make such a big deal about it. making a big deal about it is what makes kids want it even more. think about it: we are one of the countries with the most censored tv, yet most girls in the usa have sex by the age of 13. yet in europe, where tv is hardly censored, people are a lot more free on the subject of sex, and most women keep their virginity until marriage. see how censoring just makes stuff worse??

Freedom of speech should extend to all area's including internet.
Again freedom of speech though do think this would be in bad taste.
Terrorism is a different problem. That would come under National Security altho would help NSA identify them quicker.

I know this might sound odd, but you should actually do this in oh let's say, your college campus or the town it is located in. Part of the flipping assignment is to have you interact and actually interview people. If I was your professor and knew this is how you did this paper I would give you and "F" and kick you out of my course. I might even see about getting you expelled as you have no honor in your work and failed to grasp the basic idea of the learning process.
You have no way to know if these people are who they say they are, You have no way to judge the answers they give are honest or lies and as far as your professor can tell from this type of research, you could have made the whole thing up.

Nothing should be censored. If you don't like something it's up to you to NOT LOOK AT IT. People blame anyone but themselves.
I dont mean you yourself by the way.
