3D DNA Model Help?! Any Ideas?

I need help on making a 3D DNA Double Helix Model. I have to use household stuff and I cant use Styrofoams, Legos, or Clay. Also no candies...Do you have any ideas that I can do?

    I remember this project! For mine, I used wire coat hangars wrapped with gimp. If your teacher is really anal about using only found objects, you could use yarn from an old, beat up sweater or different colored fabric scraps from a few ratty t-shirts. Use hot glue to glue it, since it holds really well without any fuss.

    Straws would be good too, even though they aren't very sturdy. You can find them in different colors too. Aluminum foil is another option since it's really malleable. The only problem you might have is with the texture, though you can probably figure out a way to smooth it out. At least you'd be able to twist it, unlike the straws :o)
