if there is a police or Sheriff station too far away,would the fire department take over where there is domest?

such as child abuse, just wondering in case, i live near many children and want to help keep them safe, i was abused as a child, and don't want anyone else to go through that

    In my state, Fire Departments are "Safe Zones" where you can go if you are getting abused. They will keep an eye on you and call the police immediately.

    But they aren't going to come to your house in their truck if you call 911 and report child abuse. That's not what they do.
