SPURS Need to find their MOJO?!...Fans reply?

Its early in the season, May far away....but as much as I love Duncan & The Spurs, I cant help think/feel, that this is going to be a very disappointing season for this team.....chemistry or no chemistry....you cant succeed if you dont rebound enough, get on those boards, and get second chances, as well as turning the ball over, and not making free throws.....it spells disaster....their D is NOT the same, and well the list goes on.....Think by playoff time, they will get it going as a unit/team?? thoughts?

Easy there. The Spurs always start slow. Part of Pops philosophy is to give his new players and the bench guys a lot of court time and run a lot of plays for them early in the season. It keeps the vets fresh for the second half of the season and the playoffs, and gives the new guys a crash course in playing things the Spurs way.

Look at the box score from tonights game. Allen had 40 minutes, Pierce 37, Rondo 36, Garnett 35. On the Spurs, Parker had 36, Jefferson 35, Duncan 32, Ginoboli 18. The Spurs played 11 guys, and all of them got at least 10 minutes. Boston played 9 guys. Look at the Spurs game stats for the season so far, and you'll see that almost every player on their roster is averaging under 30 minutes a game.

Dang, DeJuan Blair, the rookie, played 22 minutes for the Spurs and went 9-11. 11 rebounds too. That's pretty impressive.

Point is, if this game was played in April, you'd see a lot more time for the vets. The team would be more diciplined and focused, and the game would have been a lot closer. It's a long season. Pop knows how to manage a team to have them playing their best when it's money time.
