Do climate change sceptics make you angry?

Knowing that while sceptics sit around pontificating about hoaxes and natural cycles, the politicians and scientists who might actually be able to fix or counteract the climatic problem will eventually have to put up with the same whining sceptics in 40 years time. In 2050 the sceptics will probably say "see I told you there was nothing wrong", after the fix it job is done. You can't win an argument with a fool, now or in the future.

The sceptics will tell their children, whose lives may have been saved by today's generation, that there was never anything to worry about, thus perpetuating their blinkered view on life forever.

PS - sceptics welcome to defend but please don't bother leaving links to email scandals and other made up evidence that climate change is a fantasy. We obviously have a Internet connection thanks.

Update:

Charli - you should google Erik the Red, probably the world's first climate change sceptic. You might learn something about why it is called Greenland, from the murderer he was.

As time goes on, and we have learnt more about how the earth and atmosphere works there should be vigorous and adult debate on the issue. Problem is, that those who believe in AGW have hi-jacked any debate on climate and tell anyone with a differing opinion or evidence that "we don't want to hear it" like a spoilt child with their hands over their eyes and ears.

ACTION on climate change must start with an adequate debate on the issues if they can be proven but unfortunately this has never happened. This can be followed by an open and frank discussion about solutions and alternatives, which also has never happened... considering the government is hell bent on introducing an un-capped tax on everything pretending that it's about the climate and CO2.

    Very few "sceptics" I believe dispute that the planet is changing, the issue I understand is;

    1) Are humans responsible? AND

    2) What, if anything, can we do about it?

We shouldn't just "accept" the first thing (ETS) that the government of the day suggests. This is a free society and people should be free to speak their mind and ask questions. That's all I am doing.

How do I know that "climate scientists" and the IPCC aren't fabricating evidence for cash grants to falsely prove AGW? I just wouldn't feel comfortable about my childrens' future by just blindly believing whatever the government says. How do we explain to them that we wasted billions of dollars and many thousands of jobs cut- and they will too, and their children as well - for something yet to be proven. Don't you think they would be angry with you for just supporting it anyway?

I don't believe anyone has the right to feel "angry" about sceptics, instead you should actually listen to them and look at their evidence yourself with an open mind - just as they are doing with whatever evidence you can present. I know I am.

Source(s): Oh, and a few hot days still doesn't prove that man is responsible for the climate either. It has to be unusual and global, matching computer models and predictions to mean we are really in a changing climate by anthropogenic causes. There is no evidence of that anywhere in the world yet, in fact with the leaked Hadley Centre emails - it's looking a lot like the opposite is true.

Pretty much because the Science behind the Global Warming theory is still not settled. My personal view is that I doubt that ANYONE can deny or denounce Global Warming BUT the fact of the matter is that the Science on the issue is far from settled with many Scientists divided on the issue. Here is a quote from a very well respected Russian Scientist: "Carbon dioxide is not to blame for global climate change. Solar activity is many times more powerful than the energy produced by the whole of humankind. Man’s influence on nature is a drop in the ocean". Climate change has been happening on this Earth for millions of years as seen with the Ice ages and prolonged periods of Drought on Various parts of the Earth.

I was always skeptical about the climate change stuff.

Confirming the future on either side is stupid. Weather and climate are unpredictable systems.

One volcano does naturally produce alot of CO2, but think about all the CO2 that's being emitted from every city on earth 24-7. I'm from Chicago which is an enormous city but it's just one among many.

1-Dont bother with a serious scandal?

2-Dont bother with the fact that these "scientists" are fudging numbers and charts cause their "theory" is found to be wrong.

3-You obviously dont use your internet connection.

4-Its a problem when you act like these "scientists" and choose to IGNORE the truth in front of your face.

5-DID MAN CAUSE THE GLOBAL WARMING FOR THE ICE AGE TO END (HINT----WE HAD OUR FARTS AND CAMPFIRES)?

  • No they don't make me angry as such... ( lol there are people i KNOW in the off-line world that do my head in .. don't need net-people to fry my brain) ..ALL THE TIME...

sometimes they amuse me ... in a very sad way .. kind of like when you watch a moth stuck in a spider's web....

Occassionally.. I have to think selfishly.. LIKE THEY DO .. and consider that I'll probably be dead with in 40-50 years .. so it won't bother me personally what the state of the planet is in then....

But most times i think .. not so much even about our descendents... but the other species of animal and plant that would have suffered because we are such a goddamned awful beast in so many different ways...... and that is where I DO start getting anger twangs.

Yeah, they annoy me. But all-in-all, I don't care about who's "right" and who's "wrong", I just want the wind turbines to go up, war over fossil fuels to end, electric cars to be produced. Whatever people tell their kids is unimportant--more than likely nobody will appreciate it anyway. These things need to be done, regardless.

a climate is a climate...they change. nothing to deny here. I side with the scientists who can PROVE the sun's and its natural cycles (combined with the earths rotation) have a direct effect on planetary temperature...NOT man and his SUV's (how can AGW mentality stand up to Mars, Jupiter, Titan, Europa etc heating up?).

Greenland was named Greenland for a reason, it wanst covered in ice when it was named.

True Science welcomes debate, not suppresses it. When the facts are on your side, you don't need to delete data, obscure statistics and formulate plans for keeping contrary opinions from being published.

Its a healthy skepticism. Has any of the idiots claiming the sky is falling been able to rule out the earths natural heating and cooling patterns as a cause, assuming the data is not tainted? I didn't think so......Science is not a game, you have to prove things using scientific method, there is no such thing as an educated guess which is where the whole thing stands.
