What is the relationship, if any, between Dystonia and Epilepsy?
Dystonia is a movement disorder that causes the muscles in the body to expand and contract involuntarily. This movement disorder may, in some cases be confused with seizures. However, can there be a primary causal relationship between the two? If so, what would that be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dystonia can be caused by some of the same things as seizures are. Since Epilepsy is a disorder which covers a broad range of problems that cause seizures the two might be casually related this way. The only one thing that stands out positively is that dystonia can be a genetic disorder. Both can be caused by injury (specifically head trauma), inflammation, and a drug reaction. Since the cause of this is of yet unknown with the exception that it has a genetic connection and can be associated with environmental conditions too. There is allot more info available on wikipedia, and since this sounds more like a homework assignment please do the research that you find necessary. Good luck and God Bless
