Feeling after Sex Change Surgery?

If a female has a sex change surgery and becomes a male can they gain feeling in their new penis? How many FTM's out there have done this and got feeling in their penis after time or shortly after surgery?

You're going to have to be more specific than that. First of all, they don't just 'have a surgery and become male' its a long painful, expensive and emotionally difficult experience to make their bodies match their minds. Mentally they always were male, despite what their body looked like. There isn't a single surgery that can just make everything right either. Many of the end results require several surgeries to get there. There are 3 main options for ftm guys.

    1) With only testosterone, the clitoris will grow 1-3 inches, basically producing a kind of mini-penis. It has 100% sensation, but the guy can't urinate out of it and it probably can't be used for penetration. It doesn't look like a penis either because all of the other parts of the vulva are still there and working.

2)metoidioplasty, which is often combined with a scrotoplasty. It is done after testosterone is taken and the clitoris lengthens from that. Metoidioplasty is probably the most common actual surgery that ftm guys get because the penis is natural looking and erotically sensate, although it is small and can't always be used for penetration. The guy can have an unassisted erection from this as well as urinate standing up and through his penis. What this procedure entails is freeing the clitoris from the position that holds it close to the body so that it hangs like a penis and then the urethra is often lengthened. Then a scrotum can be formed from the labia majora, with prosthetic testicles. It probably costs around $18 000 US. There are fewer complications with this procedure as opposed to the phalloplasty.

    3) The phalloplasty (also usually combined with a scrotoplasty) is where a large piece of tissue is taken from the forearm, thigh or sometimes a place on the torso. Usually its the forearm though. Anyways, that creates a huge, unsightly scar on the donor sight. That tissue is basically rolled up to make the neophallus. The phalloplasty requires multiple surgeries and is somewhere around $70 000 US, I think. Anyways, it is usually not erotically sensate, it can't become erect without the use of a rod and pump, and it doesn't look like a bio guys penis. So you can see why its not the #1 choice for a transguy. Its got the size but not much else, unfortunately.
