    I agree with the other answerer. Lehane is a great writer, but he has written better and more convincing books. This is more like his take on a classic thriller mystery... it's all been done before, but it's fun watching the way he does it.

    I enjoyed it very much, enough to force my father to read it. Thrillers usually bore me, but this one had me... well, thrilled. I'd definitely check it out before the movie is released.

    Yes. It's a bit technical in its writing structure, but still excellent.

    Better by Lehane are MYSTIC RIVER and THE GIVEN DAY.
