What should I make for my boyfriend's family who has lost a loved one?

I would like to cook or bake something for my boyfriend's family, whose grandmother just passed away. What would be a nice idea to deliver to their house?

    Hi Rachel,

With a sad occasion of someone passing at the holidays, they surely will have family and friends stopping by to visit. I would put together a nice tray of goodies that they could put out. Maybe make some brownies and cookies, (choc chip and maybe some sugar cookies or some store bought Italian butter cookies) and decorate with some Hershey kisses, hard candy, mints and nuts and any other favorites that your boyfriend might like, that way there is some variety so if someone doesn't like one thing there are many choices.

I'm sure your kindness will be appreciated.

    God Bless.

ps.I put chocolate chunks in my brownie batter and ice them with chocolate frosting

There are several things that people usually take -- a casserole, platter of cold cuts, or some kind of finger food.

It almost seems to be an unofficial tradition to bring chicken buckets or ham. You can make it yourself or pick it up from a KFC or Honeybaked. Either way, it's the thought that counts.
