Has anyone actually roasted chestnuts over an open fire?

    im from AUSTRALIA!! we roast them on the barbie!! LOL (Barbie is a BBQ for our foreign friends BTW) and the only Jack nipping at my nose is a Jack Daniels!!! LOL

    I had them for the first time a couple weeks ago...

    A macedonian family invited me over for dinner...apparantly they eat them all the time

    And while its 14 degrees where I am now....it was rather warm that day
