If Osama Bin Laden was captured today, where should he be tried?

Should it be in a US civilian court or a military tribunal, and why?

Osama Bin Laden should be tried by a military tribunal because we have Nuremberg for precedent.

Definitely a US Federal court that has judges and prosecutors that do cases like this 24/7/365 and have very high conviction rate

The military tribunals on the other hand would be composed of a bunch of inexperienced rookies who probably have never handled a case that's even close to this in their entire careers

When was the last time that a US military tribunal actually executed anybody?

Source(s): Native New Yorker who watched the Twin Towers of the WTC as they were going up and as they were coming down and I want OBL tried , convicted and executed in NYC

Ahhh...let's see. We could try him in a military tribunal...no, so many of his victims were civilians. So let's try him in a civilian court, and give him all the rights and protections that are afforded us, the people he attacked and wants to destroy. Let's read him his Miranda rights, get him ACLU attorneys, and make sure nobody gives him a fat lip. Let the trial go on for months, let him and his cohorts bash America and entertain those who are insane enough to think he "has some good points", and maybe he was justified.

Or maybe the troops who find him will just shoot the SOB, and avoid all of the above nonsense.

NY City, in civilian court, of course! Doesn't he deserve a fair trial, and the rights of any US citizen? And don't forget the backrubs and bubble baths he'll take with Obama. No reason to make poor Bin Laden feel uncomfortable.

It would probably be in the moot court of a New York High School.

Why? his greatest chance of acquittal and therefore, appeasement of the kook fringe base and the Chosen Ones Muslim buddies!

Ask yourself why the Five are being tried in civilian court? Where is the jurisdiction?

Like other terrorist in civilian court, cause this is what Obama and his cronies want, they do not want him convicted. My self I think he needs to be dealt with on the very exactly spot he is captured, finish him, tag and bag him, and leave him there for the buzzards.

Burned at the stake on site.

Then film it and release it to Al Jeerza with Americans dancing in the background and throwing bacon at him..

Maybe a shoe or two just for fun.

A federal court, given life without parole, and then released into general population areas of a prison, while guards are busy elsewhere, for 10 minutes, that will be all that is needed. The body, or at least its pieces, can be buried in afghanistan or whereever.

The Soldiers who find him will have a throw weapon and place it on him if he doesn't have one already, take a few pictures and say he resisted. God forbid we catch him alive and leave marks on if wrist from the hand cuffs and the Soldiers end up facing a court marshall.

In New York City, in a U.S. civilian court, so Obama (swt) could make sure he was found "Not Guilty" and released.
