How to prevent my burn from scarring?

I burnt my stomach yesterday when I was cooking. I pulled a glass baking dish out of an oven that was set at 450 degrees and when I reached up to get some plates my stomach touched the glass dish that was sitting on the counter.

My burn doesn't hurt, but the skin is a dark brown almost black color. Anything you know of that I can out on it so that it wont scar so badly??

Thanks

Update:

meant to say *put* on it , not out

let it heal don't pick at it or pop the blisters you may have a scar for some time but it will go away soon enough i have had many burns from hitting the heating coils at the restaurant i worked at and they all went away

There's a burn cream (prescription) caller Silvadeen (or something like that.) Worked great for me - I had 2nd and 3rd degree burns on my hands - no scars at all. Partially luck, but you need a moisturizer. Rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, etc. DEhydrates - not a good idea. Vit. E (you can buy by the bottle) also works great. One bottle lasts forever. If you have any capsules, you can poke a pin hole in one end, and squeeze it out.

Buy Mederma (I think that's how it's spelled haha - it's an anti-scar gel in the section where the band-aids are) from Wal-Mart or a drugstore, it works well. If you can't find that, use coco butter. I haven't tried the coco butter personally, but I have heard from multiple people it works.

Dark skin caused from a burn means no blood supply to the skin and it may come of same as a blister.

You can treat with vitamin E oil or tissue oil.

Good luck and if blister do not remove dead skin as it will leave an open wound that can get infected.

its not always easy to stop scars the best thing to do is to keep it clean and if you do get one try coco butter because i have a scar on my arm from cooking and coco butter works well because it covers it but if you do get one it shouldn't be very noticeable x.
