Hello, Michael! If your guitar was a Squier by Fender, then I would just cut my losses and buy another pre-owned from Craig's List or eBay. On the other hand, if it was a MIM or (..gulp..!!) a MIA, and it still can be played, have some fun with it at your next public performance! Another alternative would be to replace all the damaged hardware and electronics with pre-owned pieces (probably cost less than $200), leaving only the charred body and neck (if still playable). This would certainly make a pretty unique and highly-personalized instrument, leaving onlookers wondering! Lastly, you could consider selling it; I would not be surprised if you found more than one person that would just love to have it hanging on their wall! Oh yeah, and get some new friends! Best regards, Dana

Keep that guitar around for future use.
The next time your "friends" come up with a stupid idea to make money, bring the guitar back out. Grasp the scorched neck in your hands, and hit your head with it until you knock that new idiotic suggestion clean out of it.
