Does wii fit really work?

so i have this idea, that i want to lose weight, about 20-40 pounds. we've had a treadmill ive been using for 30 min a day walking at a 3 mile pace while i watch tv..i know right?

does working out with the wii fit take over that walking for 30 min on the treadmill? i do about an hour a day of excercise on the wii fit. plus i want to run an extra 30 min on the treadmill.

would you recommend it? or is it a choose one or the other sorta thing?

thanks in advance.

also i was thinking. waking up at 5 30am before i go to school. jog on the treadmill for 30 min, then come after school do an hour of wii fit. would you recommend?

Sounds like you are already getting a lot of aerobic exercise. That's great! But doing strength training & other exercises is good for your metabolism & fitness.

More importantly you need to do exercises that you enjoy & have variety. Wii Fit might work for you.

If you do get the Wii Fit -- I would recommend getting Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Wii Fit plus is the latest version of Wii Fit & it lets you know how many calories you burned per activity & per workout session).

Getting immediate feedback & having the system track your progress is helpful in meeting goals.

What I like most about Wii Fit / Wii Fit Plus is the balance board. There are a lot of other games that use the balance board & you can sneak in extra exercise while gaming (or you can pick from other fitness games as well). You can find the complete list of Wii games compatible with the Wii Balance Board at http://www.musictomyears.com/wiibalancegames.html.

I found that We Ski was a lot of fun & the balance board made it feel much more realistic. However for a more challenging workout the Shaun White Snowboarding Road Trip was killer (my thighs were screaming). But take these things gradually. I don't think that you have to work out for 1 1/2 hours a day to lose weight & get into shape. Just be consistent & gradually increase your intensity & I think that you will see a real difference.

The Wii is definately valued at the money. For you Wii Fit/Plus hindrance, get Wii Fit Plus on the grounds that it has all the activites that Wii Fit has plus further. So you have got to purchase a Wii after which get a Wii Fit Plus kit that includes the board and your set.

well the wiifit is OK, but most of the stuff I kinda cheat on so I wouldn't know ;)

They do have a really good system for keeping up with how much weight you've lost, how many minutes you've worked out, and how many calories you've burned.

You can set goals for yourself, and they sort of lay out a workout plan based on your current weight and your goal.

There's all these fun games, or there's strength exercises and training exercises, as well as yoga.

All of them are sort of fun and giving you exercise at the same time, but some of them would be really embarrasing if someone caught it on tape ;)

You have to do it the way it says to also, because otherwise you won't get "fit".

If you're happy with the treadmill, I say stick with it.

Just make sure you're challenging yourself, because the only way you'll get better is if you go just a tiny bit further than you're comfortable with.

Then once you've grown used to that, you've grown stronger.

    Then you move it up.

If you want something a little bit more diverse and entertaining, I would suggest the Wiifit.

    thank you.

Look for something called Active Life outdoor challenge on Amazon. I got this for my daughter instead of the wii fit, and it is awesome! You really work up a sweat doing all kinds of fun things like driving a minecart, or jumping over rolling logs. It is lots of fun, and a great workout. Much more fun than the treadmill, trust me! They also have a new active life game called extreme challenge that has things like rollerblading and snowboarding too, you should check out their videos and see it, they are wicked fun, even for overweight people like me! Another great thing is that you can use the same mat for both versions, so you save a bundle on the newer version!

Source(s): this is outdoor, and it has a video you can watch to see if it is the kind of thing you are looking for. http://www.amazon.com/Active-Life-Outdoor-Challeng... This is the extreme challenge version http://www.amazon.com/Active-Life-Extreme-Challeng...
