single, unemployed, only receive jobseekers alowance, im over 50yr old, in private rental house, will the benefits system pay my rent ??

may i add, i am not a sponger, ive worked for 40years continuously, i my self have bee paing spongers rents through my taxes all that time, and after 40 years do do expect to be put in the same bracket as spongers !!

You should be able to claim Council Tax Benefit, however I don't believe there is any help with regards to the payment of private rent.
You may be able to apply for a crisis loan though. You will need to speak with your local JobCentre Plus office for further details on how to claim.

The council cant ask you to pay anything cos rent is charged on the house, not on how many people live in it HOWEVER the so called "bedroom tax" might apply if your parents claim housing benefit IF they do then I would presume they will only be assessed as needing 1 bedroom. Since you are an adult you are now responsible for finding your own place to live and to pay for it If this is the case and I assume your parents live in a 2 bed house then the amount they receive in benefit will go down since they are no longer responsiuble for housing you.

You need to apply for housing benefit you should get it and council tax

yes it will, go on council benefit. ask the jobcentre for details as they cant arrange it for you but can say where to apply

i'd say you could always felch your landlord but, you're over 50, and the thought of your shaky jowls playing a man's *** like a tuba made me vomit in my mouth just a little
