Why did Bud Selig allow Frank McCourt to own the dodgers if he had no money?

What is the point of having a poor owner. Then you get situations were teams struggle to make payroll and the MLB has to get invovled.

He wasn't poor when he bought the team and probably isn't actually poor now . He is divorcing his wife and likely trying to hide his assets from her.

It's not the Commissioner's call. The other owners have to vote on whether, or not, to accept a new owner.

You people blame Bud Selig for everything, including the drought in California.
