Yes, you were right. A is the correct answer. B and C are both definitely wrong, so D is also wrong.

From www.wto.org:
"While there is no specific agreement dealing with the environment, under WTO rules members can adopt trade-related measures aimed at protecting the environment provided a number of conditions to avoid the misuse of such measures for protectionist ends are fulfilled.
The WTO contributes to protection and preservation of the environment through its objective of trade openness, through its rules and enforcement mechanism, through work in different WTO bodies, and through ongoing efforts under the Doha Development Agenda. The Doha Agenda includes specific negotiations on trade and environment and some tasks assigned to the regular Trade and Environment Committee."
While this leads me to choose A, I have reservations about that answer because the GATT has not been in force since 1994, when the WTO became the new body. For this reason, I feel the D is the best answer. This text from the WTO site backs me up: "Allowing for the optimal use of the world’s resources in accordance with the objective of sustainable development and seeking to protect and preserve the environment are fundamental to the WTO. These goals, enshrined in the Preamble of the Marrakesh Agreement, go hand in hand with the WTO’s objective to reduce trade barriers and eliminate discriminatory treatment in international trade relations. For WTO members, the aims of upholding and safeguarding an open and non-discriminatory multilateral trading system, on the one hand, and acting for the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development, on the other, can and must be mutually supportive."
While I don't want to expressly say you're wrong, I feel the other answers are better because text on the WTO's site back up their statements. Also, and most importantly, the GATT is no longer in existence, though it formed the basis of the WTO.
