M18 Claymore Mine Detonator?

Can this mine be detonated by using a remote detonator? If anyone has information about this that would be greatly appreciated as I'm quiet curious as to how they work. Many thanks.

I realize I seem to be ine minority compared to the others answering, but yes, the M18 and m18a1 claymore mines can be remote detonated. Apart from the noraml tripmire and clacker detonation methods there are also IR, accoustic, remote, and vibration detonators. The blasting cap for a claymore requires only 3 volts of electricity to trigger the explosion, and as long as the blasting cap is set securly into one of the detonator wells atop the mine you could theoretically have limitless options for detonators.

Additionally, the the Spidre MCU/RCU system is compatible with the M18 series mines and specifically allows the user to activate the mine from a remote location using a laptop computer.

A M18 Claymore Mine CANNOT be detonated remotely. It is either detonated by a clacker, which send an eletrical current through the wire and then detonates the mine. Or it can be detonated by use of a tripwire.

A claymore mine is command detonated only, meaning the firing device must be manually triggered.

The firing device creates an electrical charge that fires the blasting cap placed inside the mine. The blasting cap detonates the C4 explosive in the mine, scattering small steel balls or discs in a 45 deg .angle from the front of the mine. A claymore is aimed for maximum effectiveness. It rests on the top of the ground, and is not buried. You cannot detonate it by stepping on it or driving over it. It required the operator to see when the target is in the kill zone. Printed on a claymore are the words"FRONT TOWARDS ENEMY" so you aim it in the proper direction. A claymore is shaped like a half moon, and weighs about 4 lbs.

the M-18 claymore detonator is a hand held electric generator unit that you have when you have a sesies of claymores set up in a defensive pattern and it,s not remote (unless they have a new model out and it,s remote )but most of them are wired up to the detonator .

Either a trip wire or detonator, the detonator is still conected via a wire.

real claymores are triggered by either trip wires, attached to the nodes where the lasers protrude in game. or by a clapper (the device you use to detonate c4 in game) but no. no current RELEASED model has lasers
